Defang Ouyang
Prof. Ouyang has a multidisciplinary background in pharmaceutics and computer modelling with experience in academia and industry. He completed his PhD at The University of Queensland in 2010, then served as Lecturer and PI at Aston University before joining the University of Macau in 2014.
Since 2011 he has advanced the integration of multi scale modelling and in silico screening in drug delivery, termed computational pharmaceutics. He has published books, book chapters, and over one hundred SCI papers, and holds more than ten approved patents applied to medicinal products. He serves as associate editor of Drug Delivery and Translational Research and on editorial boards of leading journals.

- Multi scale modelling: QM, MD, and PBPK applied to drug delivery systems
- Pharmacoinformatics: literature, patent, clinical trial, and product data analytics
Designs front end and back end architecture and algorithms across modules including parameter generation, cyclodextrin complexes, solid dispersion, liposomes, micelles, self assembled nanoparticles, and transmembrane delivery with a focus on efficient MD workflows.
Builds the technical framework and middleware between UI and computation engines and maintains platform stability and performance.
Develops and maintains core modules and contributes to the modelling pipeline and UI integration.
Designs foundational web frameworks and continuously optimizes interaction logic to enhance the user experience.
